How to use the bundle discount calculator

Enter each item’s regular selling price and your cost, including supplier shipping. Add a third item only if it is part of the bundle. Enter a percentage discount on the items’ combined regular price, then click Calculate. The comparison table uses your current item prices and costs at other discount levels. Change any number and click Calculate again; Reset restores the example.

The result is gross profit per bundle order. It subtracts the products’ total cost from the discounted bundle price. It does not subtract advertising, payment fees, returns, tax or other business expenses.

Bundle discount formula

  • Combined regular price = sum of the items’ regular selling prices.
  • Bundle price = combined regular price × (1 − bundle discount ÷ 100), rounded to the nearest cent.
  • Customer savings = combined regular price − bundle price.
  • Total product cost = sum of the items’ costs, including allocated supplier shipping.
  • Gross profit per bundle order = bundle price − total product cost. If the result is below zero, it is a gross loss.

Compare your items at different bundle discounts

The comparison table beneath the main result holds your item prices and costs constant and changes only the discount. It includes 0%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 65%, plus your chosen percentage if it is different. Your chosen row is marked your offer. Bundle price, savings and gross profit or loss are recalculated for every row when you click Calculate. A positive gross profit means the sale covers the product costs you entered; it does not tell you whether the offer will attract enough buyers.

When does a bundle help?

The comparison depends on what the customer would otherwise buy. If they would have bought every item at full price, the bundle discount reduces gross profit on that order by the amount they save. If they would have bought only one item, the bundle may earn more gross profit by adding products to the order. The calculator shows profit per bundle order; it cannot predict which products buyers would otherwise choose or whether the discount will bring in more orders.

Bundle discount FAQ

Can I add a third item?

Yes. Select Add a third item and enter its regular selling price and cost. The percentage discount then applies to all three regular prices added together.

What if I already know my bundle price?

You can calculate the discount to enter as (1 − bundle price ÷ combined regular price) × 100. You can also estimate gross profit directly by subtracting total product cost from your fixed bundle price.

Does gross profit include ads and payment fees?

No. The calculator subtracts product costs, including any supplier shipping you put into those costs. Subtract advertising, payment fees and other expenses separately to estimate what remains after them.
