About Dropship News
Dropship News covers dropshipping in plain English: what’s changing, which suppliers are worth a look, and how to run a small online store without getting burned.
Who’s behind it
Hi, I’m Dan Barrett. I’ve worked in e-commerce since 2010 and learned dropshipping on the job, in the weeds as they say, by doing rather than by studying. I’m also the founder of Shopify For Beginners, a Shopify and dropshipping community with more than 64,000 members. We now have a second new community page Shopify Talk with support for SEO and AI Marketing for dropshipping and Shopify.
I started Dropship News to give new store owners the straight answers I’d have wanted when I began. I included Shopify when creating this site because at the time Shopify was the platform of choice for people looking to start dropshipping, although any ecommerce platform can be used Shopify is by far the most popular for dropshipping.
I’ve had many stores operating with dropshipping as the fulfillment method, offering products including e-cigs when they first hit the market, fashion jewelry, bed headboards, plus sized clothing, print on demand stores and birthday gifts. I’ve experienced the highs and lows just like the many dropshippers out there and I hope to pass on a little knowledge and experience to newcomers to both dropshipping fulfillment and the Shopify platform.
What you’ll find here
- News and guides. Short, practical write-ups on platforms, suppliers, tools, marketing advice and rule changes that affect small sellers.
- The supplier directory. Each supplier has its own page with the basics in one place: what they sell, where they ship from, fees, order minimums and the sales channels they work with. When we can’t confirm something, the page says “unknown” instead of guessing.
How we check suppliers
Every supplier page is checked by hand against the supplier’s own published information before it goes live, and every fact is tied to a source we keep on file. Each page shows when it was last checked. Older pages carry a warning so you know to re-verify before you order.
How we make money
Some supplier and tool links are affiliate links. Assume any link to be an affiliate link. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. An affiliate commission will not change what a page says or dictate whether a supplier is listed or not. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Spot a mistake?
Suppliers change their terms often. If something here is out of date, tell us and we’ll recheck it and get it up to date.
